Blogging to share the gospel

Elder Ballard has encouraged us (he was speaking to BYU Hawaii students at their commencement) to use "new media" to share the gospel and put forth accurate information. In his speech he specifically referred to blogs.

When I read this on lds.org I decided to post my testimony on my blog.

So amidst Juggling my sweet babe here it is:

Every joy I've had or will have in this life or the next is linked directly to my Savior and elder brother Jesus Christ, our loving Heavenly Father, the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

From my beautiful eternal marriage to a kind and loving priesthood holder to my ennobling role as mother to a spirit son and our beloved daughter Eve. Everything I do is blessed, guided, and beautifully affected by this church. It is no small thing to know who you are, where you came from ,and where you are going. Because Jesus Christ was willing to atone and die for us, we also know that each of us has worth and are profoundly loved. Love is the great motivating factor in all this and I do stand all amazed by it.

Within the restored gospel I have found and know that my life has meaning and value. Being a woman is a good and beautiful thing that makes me happy and honored to walk in our revered Mother Eve's footsteps. I have had too many sacred moments to every doubt the efficacy of this church.

The hope of Jesus Christ's triumph over death resonates in every members life. No one need be lost to the grave. Even if they never knew of Jesus Christ wile on this mortal coil, provisions are made for that too. Our beautiful temples see to that and the sealing of families for eternity.

I am profoundly grateful to Joseph Smith for the brave work he did and sacrifice he made for us to have the restored gospel on the earth today. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ did appear to him in a sacred grove in upstate New York as a 14 year old farm boy and earnest seeker of truth. Wile perhaps not in the way, Heavenly Father reaches out still to all his children who earnestly seek him. I know this to be true for He has reached me through the power of the Holy Ghost, and if you will earnestly seek He will reach you too.

So I never knew that there was a book made about each year's best quotes... Apparently there is and 2007 has some really fun ones. In the Yale Book of Quotations for 2007 you'll find such gems as these:

Exploding into Toddlerhood

My sweet babe is growing so fast. she is so long, which now means tall! Her crawling isn't very fast... Thank heavens. She has five teeth now. She loves to rub them together. Oh what a "lovely" sound that makes. She can pull herself up to standing, quite well now too. The second time she did it, I got it on video. Yesterday I couldn't keep her out of what I was doing. I really didn't know how to cope. I told my friend that she had just suddenly exploded into toddlerhood. She's crazy and funny and such a light in my life. I love it when she smiles and wrinkles her nose or plants her hands and sticks her butt in the air. She loves music and reading. She has a sense of rhythm. She bounces to the beat of a song shes enjoying. She loves it when her father plays for her. She also enjoys playing the organ and piano herself. When here toys are spread out on the floor she always pick her books first. When you read to her she is attentive and protests when the book ends.
Motherhood is great. I'm so excited for her first Christmas!

Seaching for an AP Nativity...

So after over five years of marriage we have yet to pick out a nativity for our family. DH wants it to look just so i.e. style and paint job. Wile I want Mary to seem like a woman who just had a baby, a baby that she loves. Joseph to look like the man who loves her and I want animals and cute shepherds. I like the wise men, but since they weren't there that night there presence seems less important. Oh and I want Mary to have a nice face that could pass for a teenager.
Have you ever seen a nativity like that? Neither have I! The baby Jesus is almost never being touched or interacted with. He's a baby! He deserves what all babies deserve lots of kisses and cuddles, and lots and lots of breast milk. *sigh* The search continues...

Alexandria Morningside

Known as Alex in the new book "Alex and The Ironic Gentleman" by Adrienne Kress. She is my new favorite literary female. A wise 10 year you never have to yell at to not open the door for the scary stranger or other such nonsense. In any sticky situation she finds herself in she doesn't need our (the reader's) help getting out. ;) Clever and charming she is a truly refreshing addition to the literary world.
DH and I read this book together recently and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The narration is so witty I don't think I've read another book quite like it. You can't not love Alex. Really all of the characters Kress created are enjoyable in their own way. This book really is a delightful and unique read. And did I mention Alex....

Among other things she's certified stage combatant. Apparently she's mighty with the sword and the pen. How cool is that?
