What a Great Fortnight

I have taken no picture during this time.
I just forgot.
Weird, I know... Yes I am a portrait photographer.
So there was the fun of Halloween dress up.
We dressed up as Jack and Jill with our little girl as "A Pail of Water"
Lest I sound terribly creative, these costumes consisted of construction paper crowns with Jack and Jill written on them.
As Jack and Jill, we both wore the same colored tee-shirts and jeans.
The "Pail of Water" costume consisted of a blue top and brown pants.
I cut out a bucket shape from brown contact paper, wrote "A Pail of Water" on the bucket, and stuck it to her shirt.
Hubbie and I sported fake bruises from our "fall"
We wore this costume to our friends costume birthday party and to the ward party.
Our second costume was a family of green faced, red haired, silver antennaed martians. Why were we martians? I'll get back to that.

A day or two before Halloween, we went out to dinner at La Carreta in American Fork.
The food, service, and environment were impeccable. Sadly the place was empty besides our little party of three. We used our Starving Student card and got buy one get one Lomo Saltado. Afterwards we went to Cornbelly's. We got in half price thanks to our Thanksgiving Point Property Membership. Our daughter was tuckered out so we didn't end up doing everything, but we still had a lot of fun. We didn't spend much time in the corn maze, but we enjoyed the other play areas very much. I loved the cow train, slides, jumping pillow, and the Creature. I don't know if the experience is worth $20, but is was certainly worth $10. :D

This Halloween was the best Halloween yet. We went up to Park City to the Washington School House Inn. They turn their inn into a haunted house for the tricker treaters. If you participate in the haunt you get a half price stay, dinner, and breakfast. We had fun helping set up, and then we had fun being in the space portion of the haunt as a family of martians. Our spiel was about how good trick or treaters taste. Our little daughter spooked some and delighted others. We had so much fun. Everyone was impressed with how well she handled being in the haunt, they didn't know it was thanks to nursing. ;) The Inn management made a special exception for our family, since normally they only allow 18 and up to stay at the inn. They were ever so nice and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and fun to see everyone out of costume. I highly recommend the inn, although the beds could be bit softer for my taste.
I loved that the inn tries to be environmentally friendly.

The following Monday I made a support sign for RaDene Hatfield and participated in a honk and wave.
Tuesday night I spent the evening with dear friends and my little family.
It felt like New Years and Christmas rolled into one. It was one of the most wonderful nights of my life. I have never voted out of hope rather than fear before. It was a wonderful feeling. We shouted and cried for joy. We shared great food and a sparkling cider toast. When we got home I posted Obama's amazing speech on my blog, signs in my window, and sent an email to someone who's friendship I had lost exactly four years before. When I woke up all was mended with my friend. Wednesday felt amazing, almost like when I woke up after Eve's birth.

Over the weekend Eve got the stomach flu. Fortunately she only threw up twice, once all over the back seat of the car on the way to a birthday party and the other time it landed on my face/mouth and hair/body. Thank goodness she is still breastfeeding. (1) Because breatmilk is so quickly digested, I knew she was still getting nutrients, (2) Because she's been refusing solids due to nausea, (3) Brestmilk vomit is a lot less disgusting, than solids vomit.

And I must admit I love Facebook. I have been reconnecting with people I haven't spoken to in years.
