I just read a pleasant lds novel by Joni Hilton. It's called the Ten-Cow Wives Club, each chapter ends with the recipe for the food mentioned in the chapter. That is where I found this recipe. It makes it's own chocolate sauce people.
IT MAKES IT'S OWN SAUCE!!! :D
Chocolate Heaven
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
6 tablespoons baking cocoa, divided
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 3/4 cups hot water
1/2 cup sugar
6 tablespoons baking cocoa, divided
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 3/4 cups hot water
Vanilla Ice Cream, optional
Combine flour, sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a large bowel. Stir in milk and oil until smooth. Pour into a greased 8 inch square baking pan. Combine brown sugar and 3 Tablespoons cocoa; sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water over top, but do not stir. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 to 45 minutes. It makes it's own sauce, so serve it in bowls.
Serves 6-8
I made this with a friend for our husbands on Fathers day. We served it with chocolate honey whipped cream. It was sensational and extremely rich. I think I may make it again tonight.
